Empowering El Paso's Youngest Entrepreneurs

The Acton Children's Business Fair is a one-day event that gives children ages 5–16 the opportunity to create, launch, and run their very own business. From brainstorming a product idea to designing a booth, setting prices, and selling to real customers, young participants experience the full entrepreneurial journey in a single afternoon. Each child is the CEO of their own booth — they decide what to sell, how to market it, and how to interact with the public.

We hosted our first fair in El Paso, Texas in May 2026, where 33 young entrepreneurs showcased their businesses to a vibrant community of family, friends, and local shoppers. The energy was electric: kids proudly displayed handmade crafts, baked goods, artwork, games, and services they had designed themselves, while visitors shopped and encouraged their hard work. It was a powerful reminder of what children can accomplish when given the space, trust, and tools to create something of their own.

The fair is designed for children across the El Paso community — whether they attend public school, private school, or are homeschooled — and requires no prior business experience. All that's needed is curiosity, a willingness to try, and a supportive adult. Children work alongside parents or guardians to prepare their booth, but the business itself belongs entirely to the child. Along the way they practice budgeting, customer service, public speaking, problem-solving, and the confidence that comes from earning something on their own.

The Acton Children's Business Fair is part of a national movement that has inspired over 78,000 young entrepreneurs across 429 cities. Our El Paso fair is organized by a dedicated group of local volunteers, parents, and educators who believe that entrepreneurship is one of the most powerful ways to teach creativity, resilience, and real-world skills. We are not affiliated with any single school or organization — we are a community-led initiative built by people who care deeply about the next generation of El Paso leaders, makers, and doers.
